Developmental Experience

Harden Ervin's experience writing software for Manufacturers Representatives is from the beginning of the development of computers and Laptops.  He is responsible for developing and selling the following software.

  • EAZY REP™ -- Manufacturer Representatives contact management program

  • EAZY REP2™ -- Manufacturer Representatives contact management program updating itself daily by the phone with information from the factory that enhanced the manufacturers representative to maximize sales and his time.  (The First of It's Kind)

  • Showroom™ -- The furniture shows twice a year in High Point, North Carolina.  Harden Ervin developed a program for product intensive displays that allowed manufacturing representatives to use a bar code reader to create and order while the retail customer is on site faster than ever before with a corresponding representative handling more customers, thus having a bigger order.

Manufactures Involved

  • Hooker Furniture

  • Florida Furniture

  • Maitland Smith

  • Drexel Heritage

  • MASCO

All the software development showed an interested to address each need directly and solve it.  The development effort was very successful.

Before the Internet became widely available computers were communicating between themselves using the phone lines.  This technology was reliable, but slow.  Harden Ervin visioned furniture could be displayed on computers on furniture floors that were updated each evening from the factories and any retail order would be uploaded to the factory.  The proof that this would work was the experience we had with EAZY REP being updated from the factory by phone.  The concept was not accepted because the potential customer did not recognize the need.  Today they use the concept all the time.
